Today the Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act 2021 comes into effect. This means local authorities and education providers have a legal duty to make free period products available to anyone who needs them.

Since 2017, we've invested £27 million to fund access to free period products across Scotland. This includes funding for the PickUpMyPeriod app, developed by Hey Girls. It allows people to find free period products and links to over 1,000 locations in 31 council areas.

If you see someone in trouble in the water – do not get in the water yourself.
Look for a life saving device nearby or something to throw which floats. Call 999 and ask for fire and rescue if it is inland such as a loch, reservoir or river.
At the coast or beach ask for the coastguard.
